Green Treefrog
Green Treefrog
Amphibian. The tiny green treefrog is considered one of the most beautiful frogs in North America. Alert and skittish, a green treefrog will jump at the slightest sign of danger. They use their green color as an effective camouflage against predators. Depending on temperature and lighting, they can change colors between dark and light green. Their call sounds like a series of metallic honks or a barking dog. Green treefrogs are active at night, and prefer to climb rather than jump. They grow to only about 6.5 cm (2.5 in) in length.
